Permit Applications

Please refer to Guernsey or Jersey law. In summary:

• Aircraft registered outside the United Kingdom or Guernsey shall not take on board or discharge passengers or cargo in Guernsey or Jersey unless prior permission has been issued by the oDCA by way of a Foreign Carrier Permit (FCP). Applications can be made online using the links below. The FCP must be issued by the oDCA prior to the flight being undertaken.

• The hours/days of operation for both oDCA office's are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday. All routine Permit applications must be made within these hours, and we advise that applications be made three working days prior to the date of the planned operation.                                        

• Applications that are placed over weekends (Saturday and Sunday), or Public Holidays will not be routinely processed until the following working week.

• The oDCA will, where possible, provide out of hours support for unforeseen urgent applications, limited to critical needs, such as for medical flights, or equivalent. Operators applications applying for routine commercial flights will not be processed out of hours.

Aerial work means an aircraft operation or Small unmanned aircraft operation in which an aircraft is used for the purpose of providing specialised services. These include but are not limited to mapping, surveying, filming or imagery, observation, surveillance, patrol, inspection, parachute jumping etc. Under the Air Navigation (Jersey) Law 2014, Article 52 Regulation of Small Unmanned Aircraft, and Article 97 Aerial Work Operations and under the Air Navigation (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law 2012,Chapter 5, 37. Regulation of Small Unmanned Aircraft, and Chapter 8, 70. Grant of Aerial Work Certificates. An aerial work permit is required and must be granted before any operation commences.
